Mindfulness Meditation

Mostly we run around stressed out trying to do as many things as possible.

A good way to stop all the doing is to shift into the ‘being mode’ for a moment.

Mindfulness is a meditative awareness that cultivates our ability to see things as they really are from moment to moment. Instead of being swept away by every thought and feeling, mindfulness steadily observes these thoughts and feelings as they come and go.

It expands our awareness while refining its precision.

It creates clarity in our mind and allows greater access to our intuitive wisdom.

We often think of meditation as some kind of special activity but this is not exactly correct. Meditation is simplicity itself.

As a joke, we sometimes say: “Don’t just do something, sit there!” But meditation is not just about sitting either.

Its about stopping and being present — that is all.

It’s not merely a relaxing and calming exercise, it’s a very active process which teaches you various mental skills.

Initially you learn to be alone and centered, then you begin to deepen your ability to be attentive, to focus and to be aware.
