Acupunture

WHAT IS ACUPUNCTURE?

Acupuncture literally means 'needle piercing’ - the practice of inserting very fine needles into the skin to stimulate specific energy points for therapeutic purposes.

Acupuncturists can also use, on occasion, heat, suction, friction, massage and minor electrical impulses to stimulate these acupuncture points.

These points are stimulated to balance the movement of energy in the body to restore health and balance.

ACUPUNCTURE TREATMENT: The initial appointment can take up to 2 hours (there-after about an hour) as I ask you a series of questions, including your background medical history. I will ask about your lifestyle, effects of stress on you, sleep patterns and a variety of other questions that may not always make sense to you but will provide valuable information for a fully informed diagnosis.

I will also look at your tongue and take your pulse – both of these are integral to a full diagnosis. Chinese Medicine seeks out the cause of disease and imbalances in your life as well as the symptoms that manifest because of the underlying cause.
